After the album was released, the band members said that the album's name meant absolutely nothing, but just sounded interesting. The first lp contains live recordings of the band in Birmingham and Manchester, made in the spring of 1969. The second album consists of original studio recordings made at Abbey Road Studios. It reached 41st place in the UK Albums chart. The album contains five Chuck Berry covers, as well as Berry-related songs such as "Route 66" and "Down the Road Apiece". This album was the second "post-contract" album released by Decca after the termination of their relationship with the Stones in 1971. Due to the nature of the contract, the band lost all control over their recordings until 1971, which are jointly managed by Decca and ABKCO Records. ...more

BOWIE, DAVID-STAGE (2 LP'S)-1978-FIRST PRESS UK-RCA- PL02913(2) A rare double concert by a British legend. Stage is the second live album by English musician David Bowie, recorded during the Isolar II Tour and released on RCA Records in 1978. The recording was made at concerts in Philadelphia, Providence, and Boston, USA, in late April and early May 1978. It mainly included material from Bowie's last studio albums at that time, "Station to Station", "Low" and "Heroes" (both 1977), but also contained five songs from "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (1972). In addition to Bowie's main band, consisting of Carlos Alomar, Dennis Davis and George Murray, the band included former Frank Zappa member Adrian Belew on guitar, Simon House from Hawkwind on electric violin, Roger Powell, best known for working with Todd Rundgren in the band Utopia, on keyboards and Sean Mays on piano, string ensemble and backing vocals. They all reunited the following year on Bowie's next studio album Lodger (1979). Stage was a commercial success. In the UK, she took 5th place in the charts and subsequently received a gold certificate from the British Phonogram Producers Association (BPI). It also reached number 44 on the US charts. ...more
