The first album of the famous band, a rare British original. The Electric Light Orchestra is the debut studio album by the English rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), released in December 1971 in the United Kingdom by Harvest Records. In the United States, the album was released in March 1972 under the title "No Answer" after a United Artists Records employee misunderstood a phone call and asked for the album's name; the caller, unable to contact ELO, wrote "no answer" in his notes, and this was misinterpreted as the album's title. The album is dedicated to the main trio of Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan, who were the remaining members of the rock band The Move. The Move continued to release singles in the UK at the same time that the project was launched, but interest in Wood's former band soon waned. ROLLING STONES-VOODOO LOUNGE-1994-FIRST PRESS UK-VIRGIN- V2750 Voodoo Lounge is the twentieth studio album by the English rock band The Rolling Stones, released on July 11, 1994. This album was the band's first release as part of their new collaboration with Virgin Records and their first studio album in five years, since the release of Steel Wheels in 1989. Voodoo Lounge is also the band's first album without original bassist Bill Wyman, who left the band in early 1991, although The Rolling Stones announced his departure only two years later, in 1993.  Voodoo Lounge sold well, reaching gold or platinum status in several countries, but failed to chart in the US top 40. The songs "Love Is Strong" and "You Got Me Rocking" reached #14 and #23 in the UK, respectively, and "You Got Me Rocking" became a major hit on most of the Stones' subsequent tours. It was released by Columbia Records on August 31, 1993. The album consists of ballads written mainly by Carey and Walter Afanasieff, with whom she previously worked on Emotions (1991), as well as several dance tracks. While working on the album, Carey wanted to expand her audience by choosing a more pop-oriented/RB-oriented sound. During this time, she experimented with various musical instruments, which led to the fact that the sound of the album began to differ from the two previous, more modern works.  Upon its release, Music Box received generally mixed reviews from music critics. The album was criticized for Carey's softer and more laid-back tone compared to her previous works. Commercially, the album reached number one in 15 countries, including Australia, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded it diamond status for sales of ten million copies in the United States. STEVE VAI- PASSION AND WARFARE - 1990- FIRST PRESS UK-FFT- GRUB17. A rare British original. Passion and Warfare is the second studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released on May 22, 1990 on Relativity and Epic Records. He received a gold certificate from the RIAA. Passion and Warfare was written based on a series of episodes of dreams that Vai had when he was younger, and in the album's guitar notes book Vai summarizes it this way: "Jimi Hendrix meets Jesus Christ at a party that Ben Hur arranged for Mel Blanc." It was all recorded at Mothership Studios in his Hollywood Hills home, a 1,600-square-foot (150 m2) building that also recorded his guitar parts for Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has small spoken parts on the album; Coverdale, Adrian Vandenberg and Rudy Sarzo are credited with backing vocals. Vai claims that planning for the album began back in 1982, but was postponed after joining David Lee Roth's band and was not resumed until the breakup with Roth in 1989. ...more
