DIO-HOLY DIVER-1983-THE FIRST PRESS HOLLAND-MERCURY-811021-1. A very rare European original of the iconic album by the famous vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Holy Diver is the debut studio album by Dio, released in 1983. After leaving Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio put together a new band, which included drummer Vinnie Appisi, bassist Jimmy Bain and guitarist Vivian Campbell. Holy Diver's debut album was recorded in the style of Black Sabbath's latest works, which attracted many fans of this band to Ronnie's new band. Holy Diver reached number 13 in the UK charts and number 56 in the US (but here it went gold and subsequently platinum). Critics rate the album highly, and many of the songs from it are considered anthems and classics of heavy rock. Ronnie James Dio himself was recognized by the readers of Kerrang! magazine as the best vocalist, and his band was recognized as the best new band of 1983. A rare Japanese edition of the iconic album. Deep Purple in Rock is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple, released on June 5, 1970 on Harvest Records. This is the first studio album recorded with the classic band line-up called "Mark II" (a little earlier, this line-up recorded the live album Concerto for Group and Orchestra). Since this album, the band's style has changed dramatically. Deep Purple started playing hard rock almost simultaneously with such bands as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and are considered one of the founders and classics of this genre. According to the music critic, "the record became the epicenter of destruction, a fresh stream in the rock of the 1970s and a turn in history, in which the roots of the heavy metal style were laid." Deep Purple in Rock became the band's breakthrough album in Europe and reached number four on the UK national charts, remaining on the charts for over a year. His accompanying single "Black Night" reached the 2nd line. Included in various lists of the best albums, including Classic Rock magazine's list of the "100 Greatest British Albums of All Time" and Q magazine's list of the "50 Best Albums of the 70s." DEBORAH HARRY (EX-BLONDIE)-DEF, DUMB AND BLONDE-1989-THE FIRST UK PRESS-CHRYSALIS-CHR1650.  A rare British original. Def, Dumb and Blonde is the third solo studio album by American singer Deborah Harry. Released in October 1989 on Sire Records in the USA and Chrysalis Records in the UK, the album returned Harry to her professional name "Deborah" rather than "Debbie". Harry worked on the album with various producers, including Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins and Mike Chapman, who previously produced the last four Blondie albums. "I wanted to do something that would remind me of Blondie," she said.   The song "I Want That Man", written by Tom Bailey and Alanna Curry of the Thompson Twins, was released as the title single. It entered the top 20 of the UK Singles chart and became Harry's most successful solo single in Australia, where it reached number 2. ...more

A rare British original of the iconic rock band. The Most of the Animals is the title of an album of collected tracks from 1964 and 1965. The album's title comes from the name of their then-producer Mickey Most. The album was released in April 1966 on the Columbia label (SX 6035). Most of the material was not featured on either of the two previous British records. The album reached number four, their highest position on the UK Albums Chart (both previous records reached number six). A rare German original of a cult prog band. The Quiet Zone / The Pleasure Dome is the eighth studio album by British rock band Van der Graaf Generator, released on September 2, 1977. The last studio recording before the band reunited in 2005. In 1976, two musicians of the classic Van der Graaf Generator line-up left the band: Hugh Banton and David Jackson (who, however, took part in the recording of two tracks). They were replaced by Nick Potter and Graham Smith, who had already been in the band until 1970.  ...more
