DEEP PURPLE-IN ROCK-1970-ORIGINAL PRESS 1974 JAPAN-WARNER.-P-8020W. A rare Japanese edition of the iconic album. Deep Purple in Rock is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple, released on June 5, 1970 on Harvest Records. This is the first studio album recorded with the classic band line-up called "Mark II" (a little earlier, this line-up recorded the live album Concerto for Group and Orchestra). Since this album, the band's style has changed dramatically. Deep Purple started playing hard rock almost simultaneously with such bands as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and are considered one of the founders and classics of this genre. According to the music critic, "the record became the epicenter of destruction, a fresh stream in the rock of the 1970s and a turn in history, in which the roots of the heavy metal style were laid." Deep Purple in Rock became the band's breakthrough album in Europe and reached number four on the UK national charts, remaining on the charts for over a year. His accompanying single "Black Night" reached the 2nd line. Included in various lists of the best albums, including Classic Rock magazine's list of the "100 Greatest British Albums of All Time" and Q magazine's list of the "50 Best Albums of the 70s." In 2015, the American website Ultimate Classic Rock ranked the album at the top of its ranking of Deep Purple's best works. Certified as a gold disc in the UK, USA, France, the Netherlands and Argentina.

DEBORAH HARRY (EX-BLONDIE)-DEF, DUMB AND BLONDE-1989-THE FIRST UK PRESS-CHRYSALIS-CHR1650. A rare British original. Def, Dumb and Blonde is the third solo studio album by American singer Deborah Harry. Released in October 1989 on Sire Records in the USA and Chrysalis Records in the UK, the album returned Harry to her professional name "Deborah" rather than "Debbie". Harry worked on the album with various producers, including Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins and Mike Chapman, who previously produced the last four Blondie albums. "I wanted to do something that would remind me of Blondie," she said. The song "I Want That Man", written by Tom Bailey and Alanna Curry of the Thompson Twins, was released as the title single. It entered the top 20 of the UK Singles chart and became Harry's most successful solo single in Australia, where it reached number 2. ...more

KING CRIMSON-STARLESS AND BIBLE BLACK-1974-THE FIRST UK-ISLAND PRESS-ILPS9275 Matrix A-3U/B-3U SARC/SEAN+RAY. 2GL/1RM Stamper (Very early!) A very rare British original of the cult prog band. Starless and Bible Black is the sixth studio album by the English progressive rock band King Crimson, released in March 1974 by Island Records in the UK and Atlantic Records in the USA. Most of the album was recorded live and edited together with studio recordings and overdubs. The album includes several completely improvised compositions.Rolling Stone called the album "as stunning and powerful as In the Court of the Crimson King", especially praising the playing of Bruford and Cross, as well as the variety of timbres and lengthy instrumental improvisations. They concluded: "Fripp has finally put together the band of his dreams — hopefully they'll stick together long enough to keep releasing great albums like this one." ...more

QUEEN-A NIGHT AT THE OPERA-1975-FIRST PRESS UK-EMI - EMTC103.Matrices A-4/B-4. A rare British original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "A Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium". The final album "God Save the Queen" is the anthem of Great Britain arranged by Brian May; it was this composition that invariably completed each concert of the band. The album was ranked 230th on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and 128th on the 2020 list. ...more

FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS -YOU WERE MAD FOR ME-1964-FIRST PRESS (MONO) UK-COLUMBIA-33SX1663. A rare British original rock beat band. Mitch Murray was invited to the project, who wrote several songs for FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS, and two subsequent singles, "I'm Telling You Now" and "You Were Made For Me", took second and third place in the charts. All this happened in 1963, and their first full-length album was released in the same year. As was often the case in those days, he was named after the band, Freddie And The Dreamers. And it was a success! Those who know the history of rock music in the sixties will agree with me: not every talented band could count on such success. FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS easily occupied a niche unoccupied by other bands in the souls of the British, or rather, in a certain part of it, and the longplay took fifth place in the national charts. The second album in 1964, "You Were Mad for Me", only fueled interest in the ensemble, although there, as in the first, there was not a single song created within the band. Chuck Berry, Paul Anka, Ray Charles and others… ...more
