SUPERTRAMP-CRISIS! WHAT CRISIS?-1975-FIRST PRESS UK-AM- number AMLH68347 is a rare British original of the cult group. Crisis? What Crisis? is the fourth studio album by the prog rock band Supertramp, released in 1975. Crisis? What Crisis? the band's first CD recorded in the USA (Los Angeles). The title of the album is taken from Fred Zinnerman's feature film "The Day of the Jackal", released in 1973. Allmusic fully praised the album in their retrospective review, praising Rick Davis' keyboard work, Roger Hodgson's vocals, and John Helliwell's saxophone. They especially noted the emotionally powerful songwriting, which, in their opinion, gave the album "a warm personality and a charmingly subtle mood" The album received platinum in the USA and Canada, gold in Europe and Britain. ...more

A-1/B-1 Stamper matrices 420-1-1-4./ 420-1-1-5   An earlier version with an error on the label (songwriters and publishing are not specified) has been corrected to this version of the label. At the same time, the matrices and stamps remained the same, as well as the error in the track list on the inside of the cover.   A mega rare British original of a cult album. The album was released in June 1970 by Vertigo Records in the UK. The original vinyl release was a spread-out envelope with frontman David Byron depicted on the front sleeve, almost unrecognizable under the cobwebs. It was released in August 1970 by Mercury Records in the United States under the name just Uriah Heep with a different cover design (a centipede-type monster) and with the track "Bird of Prey" instead of "Lucy Blues". The album was re-released by Bronze Records in 1971 after the band signed a contract with that label. The album shows how the band tries different genres – a mix of heavy metal and progressive rock, rather than hard rock, which they became known for on later albums. Tracks 3 and 8 were recorded as Spice songs before the band's renaming to Uriah Heep, and featured session musician Colin Wood on keyboards. When Ken Hensley joined Spice in early 1970, the tracks were not re-recorded. ...more

The album became the first to debut on the German charts at number 1 in the first week of sales (their debut album Dire Straits was still at number 3 in that country). The album peaked at number four in the US and number three in the UK. The album contains the singles "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", which peaked at number 16 on the UK Singles chart and number two in the US, and "The Bitch Is Back", which peaked at number 15 in the UK and number four in the US. Both singles reached number one in Canada on the national RPM 100 Top Singles Chart, as did the album itself. The album was met with lukewarm reviews on its release, and legacy reviews do not consider this record one of John's best works from his peak period of the early 1970s. However, the album was a commercial success and was certified double platinum in the US, as well as being certified gold in the UK. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year at the 17th Annual Grammy Awards.  ...more
