It was released in 1976. This album sounds lighter than previous Caravan releases, it has more short, "pop" songs. The lightness of the sound is partly due to the fact that there is a lot of Pie Hastings in the album. He wrote and performed eight of the nine songs. Bill Fehilly is the band's manager, who died shortly before in a plane crash. The musicians admitted that without his help, Nazareth would never have crossed the borders of England — let alone other countries. Play ’n’ the Game, like the previous album, went unnoticed in the UK, while the band was very popular in Canada, where Nazareth received about 50 gold and platinum records throughout the 1970s.
