Tago Mago is the second studio album by the German krautrock band Can, originally released as a double LP in August 1971 on the United Artists Records label. It was the band's first full-length studio album featuring vocalist Damo Suzuki after Malcolm Mooney's departure a year earlier, although Suzuki participated in recording most of the tracks on the 1970 compilation album Soundtracks. It was recorded at Can Studio [de] in Schloss Nörvenich, a medieval castle near Cologne. Tago Mago includes long experimental tracks that combine rock and jazz improvisation, funk rhythms and specific music using editing techniques. The album was named Kahn's best and most extreme album in terms of sound and structure. The album received widespread critical acclaim and influenced many artists.
