A Day at the Races immediately came under fire from critics. Queen was accused of an unsuccessful attempt to repeat A Night At The Opera. Released on January 16, 1968, the album features a thunderous bluesy sound that would later become known as heavy metal. Due to commercial success and critical acclaim, Vincebus Eruptum reached number 11 on the Billboard 200 album chart and secured the 14th line of the cover version of Eddie Cochran's song "Summertime Blues". The album was recorded during Jarre's tour in China in the fall of 1981, which consisted of five concerts in China in Beijing and Shanghai; it was the first performance by a Western pop artist in China after the Cultural Revolution. One of the original compositions of the album – "Arpégiateur" – was used in the soundtrack to the movie "9½ weeks", as well as in several episodes of the mid-1980s American soap opera "Santa Barbara".
