The Flock failed to achieve the commercial success of other jazz-rock bands of the era, such as Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears, but they became quite famous due to the inclusion of the violin in the group. They cannot be attributed to the jazz mainstream and gloss, which American philistines liked so much, because the powerful brass section was often reinforced by a hard sound and hard rock riffs.
