This confirmed the singer's potential, reaching the top of the album chart in France. In France, Scène de vie climbed to number 2 on May 10, 1990, and then reached the top of the album chart and stayed there for ten weeks. It spent 38 weeks in the top ten and 78 weeks in the top 50.[3] It became a diamond disc eight years after its release, just as Mademoiselle Chante did... before him. In Switzerland, the album entered the charts on May 6, 1990 at number 17 and reached a peak position of 15.
