MOORE GARY-CORRIDORS OF POWER-1982-THE FIRST UK PRESS-VIRGIN-V2245. A rare British original by a great guitarist. Corridors of Power is the second solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in October 1982.  The album contains a cover version of the Free song "Wishing Well". In the track "End of the World", Jack Bruce from Cream performs the lead vocals along with Moore. Later, in 1993, Moore joined Bruce again in the Bruce-Baker-Moore project. The album also featured former Deep Purple drummer Ian Pace, former Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray, and former Uriah Heep vocalist John Sloane as backing vocalists, as well as keyboardists Tommy Eyre and Don Airey, drummer Bobby Chouinard, and bassist Mo Foster. In October 1982, "Corridors of Power" hit the UK album charts and stayed there for several weeks. Moore also achieved great success in Japan, and in the United States the album stayed on the charts for a total of thirteen weeks the following year. ...more

A rare American original by an iconic saxophonist. Reel Life is an album by jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins, released on the Milestone label in 1982. It includes performances by Rollins with Bobby Broome, Yoshiaki Masuo, Bob Crenshaw and Jack DeJohnette. In the Allmusic review by Michael J. Nastosa says: "As Rollins' career gained momentum, his love of hard bop, Caribbean music, and funk styles continued to attract loyal fans and urban audiences. The second part of the famous Gong trilogy under the general title "Radio Gnome Invisible"."Angel's Egg" is the eclecticism of the band that has risen to a new level. Here Gong realized 100% of their creative aspirations in the field of synthesis of psychedelia and jazz-rock. The album is simply magnificent; each song has a unique sound; perfect instrumental harmony is noticeable with a complete unhealthiness of creative ideas. I can't even say which of the three albums "Radio Gnome Invisible" is better (but it's definitely not Vol.1) All music rated the album 4 stars.  ...more
