Aftermath is the fourth British and sixth American studio album by the British rock band The Rolling Stones, released in two versions. The British version of the record (Decca Records) was released on April 15, 1966, intended for sale in the United States (London Records) on June 20. The CD is designed in the classic rhythm and blues style for the band, but it has become more "experimental" than its predecessors; for example, in a number of songs such non-standard instruments for rock music as sitar, accordion and marimba (African xylophone) are used. It is believed that the recording of Aftermath has become one of the most important milestones in the work of the band. In 2002, the album was included in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All time at number 108.
