Brothers in Arms is the fifth studio album by British rock band Dire Straits, released on May 17, 1985 on Vertigo Records internationally and Warner Bros. Brothers in Arms spent a total of 14 consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Albums chart (including ten consecutive weeks from January 18 to March 22, 1986), nine consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 in the US, and 34 consecutive weeks at number one on the Australian Albums chart. It was the first album to receive a tenfold platinum certification in the UK[6] and became the eighth best-selling album in the history of the British charts. It has been certified nine times platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and is one of the best-selling albums in the world, selling over 30 million copies worldwide.[8][9][10] To promote the album, Dire Straits embarked on the Brothers in Arms Tour, which ran from 1985 to 1986. The album won a Grammy Award in 1986 in the category "Best Non-Classical Album in terms of Sound Engineering" and was recognized as the Best British Album at the Brit Awards in 1987; the 20th anniversary reissue of the album won another Grammy Award in 2006 in the category "Best Surround Sound Album". Corridors of Power is the second solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in October 1982. The album contains a cover version of the Free song "Wishing Well". In the track "End of the World", Jack Bruce from Cream performs the lead vocals along with Moore. Later, in 1993, Moore joined Bruce again in the Bruce-Baker-Moore project. The album also featured former Deep Purple drummer Ian Pace, former Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray, and former Uriah Heep vocalist John Sloane as backing vocalists, as well as keyboardists Tommy Eyre and Don Airey, drummer Bobby Chouinard, and bassist Mo Foster. In October 1982, "Corridors of Power" hit the UK album charts and stayed there for several weeks.
