Can't Buy a Thrill is the debut studio album by American rock band Steely Dan, released in November 1972 on ABC Records. It was written by band members Walter Becker and Donald Feigen and recorded in August 1972 at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles with producer Gary Katz. This album is one of the most stylistically eclectic in Steely Dan's work, combining the sounds of soft rock, pop rock and jazz rock, as well as philosophical, mysterious lyrics. The commercially successful album Can't Buy a Thrill reached 17th place on the US Billboard Top LPs chart. Tape, which was promoted by the popular singles Do It Again and Reelin' In the Years, and eventually received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It also received positive reviews and was included in many retrospective lists of "greatest albums", including Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list (2003).

Return to Fantasy is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Uriah Heep, released on May 13, 1975 by Bronze in the UK and Warner Bros. Records in the USA. The album is known for the title song "Return to Fantasy". On the eve of the recording, there was another change of composition. Bassist Gary Thane left by mutual consent, because due to drug addiction he was physically unable to cope with a tight schedule of touring and recording. Later, on December 8, 1975, Gary Thane died at the age of 27 from an overdose. He was replaced from Roxy Music by bass guitarist John Wetton, who had previously played in the bands Family and King Crimson.
