Return to Fantasy is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Uriah Heep, released on May 13, 1975 by Bronze in the UK and Warner Bros. Records in the USA. The album is known for the title song "Return to Fantasy". On the eve of the recording, there was another change of composition. Bassist Gary Thane left by mutual consent, because due to drug addiction he was physically unable to cope with a tight schedule of touring and recording. Later, on December 8, 1975, Gary Thane died at the age of 27 from an overdose. He was replaced from Roxy Music by bass guitarist John Wetton, who had previously played in the bands Family and King Crimson. Return to Fantasy is the only album of the band that hit the top ten in the UK charts, rose to 7th place. At the same time , the album received devastating criticism in the British press ...more

Lot 75.MOORE GARY-WILD FRONTIER-1987-FIRST PRESS UK-10 RECORDS-NMINT/NMINT

MOORE GARY-WILD FRONTIER-1987-FIRST PRESS UK-10 RECORDS- DIX56. A rare British original by a great guitarist. Wild Frontier is the sixth solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released on March 2, 1987. This is his first studio work after returning to his native Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1985. The album contains several songs about Ireland. The album is dedicated to the memory of Moore's close friend and former Thin Lizzy member Phil Lynott, who died on January 4, 1986. It says "Philippe" on the back cover. Wild Frontier contains the hit single "Over the Hills and Far Away", which reached number 20 in the UK, as well as a cover version of the Easybeats song "Friday on My Mind". Max Middleton's song "The Loner" was originally recorded by Cozy Powell for his album Over the Top in 1979 (on which Moore performed, although not on Powell's recording of "The Loner"). Moore significantly changed the track for his recording, so he is listed as a co-author. The song "Crying in the Shadows", which was released as the B-side of the single "Over the Hills and Far Away" in December 1986 and featured as a bonus track on the Wild Frontier CD, was also recorded by Japanese singer Minako Honda under the name "The Cross (Ai No Jujika)"with Moore as the guitarist. ...more

JAN GARBAREK GROUP-IT'S OK TO LISTEN TO THE GRAY VOICE -1985-FIRST PRESS GERMANY- ECM-ECM1294. A rare original of the iconic jazzman. An album by Jan Garbarek's band, recorded in December 1984 and released on ECM in September of the following year. The quartet consists of David Thorne, Eberhard Weber and Michael Di Pasqua. AllMusic gave the album four stars, and critic Mark W. B. Allender wrote: Here Garbarek approaches the extremes of his style, performing with his band again. All the compositions on this album are named after quotes from Thomas Transtroemer's poems, and although the connection with these poems remains weak at best, they add a provocative element to the compositions themselves, which require at least some kind of programmatic interpretation. Multi-instrumentalist David Thorne is primarily responsible for the more aggressive nature of this record. His guitar parts explode with energy and tension, giving Garbarek a wider playing field, and given his penchant for excessive restraint, these are the pleasant moments that adorn the album. ...more
