MILES DAVIS-AT CARNEGIE HALL-1962-THE FIRST PRESS (MONO) UK-CBS-BPG62655 . Matrices A-1L2/B-2L1. A very rare British original of an iconic jazz album In this live performance, Davis performs with his permanent quintet, accompanied by Gil Evans and his 21-piece orchestra. The orchestra and the quintet perform excerpts from "Miles Ahead" and "Sketches of Spain" together, while the quintet itself performs both Davis originals and standards by Sonny Rollins and Ahmad Jamal, among others. Although Davis and Evans have recorded several albums together, there have only ever been two live performances with both a quintet and an orchestra. To add to the album's rarity, the Carnegie Hall recordings feature several unique recordings: the only recording of the intro to "So What" orchestrated by Gil Evans and a version of "Spring Is Here" arranged by Evans. ...more

CERRONE-GOLDEN TOUCH-1978-THE FIRST USA-COTILLION-SD5208 press. A rare American original of a cult album. Cerrone IV - The Golden Touch is the fourth studio album by French disco musician and producer Jean-Marc Cerrone, released in 1978 on Malligator (773,807) in France, on Atlantic branch Cotillion (SD 5208) in the USA, on CBS - in European countries. Having gained the huge popularity of his previous album, Supernatural - Cerrone III (1977), Cerrone decided to consolidate his success by signing important contracts. First of all, he signed an agreement with the Machat brothers: producer Steven Machat and show business lawyer Martin Machat. They became Cerron's managers in order to promote it internationally. Steven Machat signed Cerron to Atlantic Records in the USA and Canada, and to CBS everywhere except the USA, Canada and France. In France, he was given the right to publish on his own Malligator label. While waiting for the fourth album, Cerrone's fans were wondering where it would turn. Will this project be as conceptual and ambitious as the previous Supernatural, or will Cerrone return to the lingering, pleasant to forget and party style of the first albums Love in C Minor (1976) and Cerrone's Paradise (1977)? Making something amazing again after Supernature was, of course, not an easy task. Cerrone didn't repeat himself, but he made the fourth album no worse than the third. Cerrone IV: The Golden Touch was met with rave reviews in the United States, and Atlantic threw a huge party in New York in October 1978, one of the largest parties ever held for artists at that time. The album's envelope was decorated with appropriate pomp, where Cerron is represented in a laurel crown, and the Roman numeral in the title emphasizes his "crowned" status in disco culture. The Golden Touch in the title - The Golden Touch - proudly emphasizes the gold-bearing nature of Cerron's albums, which bring him "golden" discs, one after another. ...more

BOWIE, DAVID-STATION TO STATION-1976-THE FIRST UK PRESS-RCA-APL1-1327 Matrix A-1E/B-2E Rare British original cult album. Station to Station is the tenth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on January 23, 1976 on the RCA Records label. The album, considered one of his most significant works, became the embodiment of Bowie's "Thin White Duke" stage persona. The Station to Station album, produced by Bowie and Harry Maslin, was primarily recorded at Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles, California, in late 1975, after Bowie had completed filming on The Man Who Fell to Earth. The cover was designed based on a shot from the movie. During the recording, Bowie suffered from various addictions, primarily cocaine, and later said that he remembered almost nothing about the recording process. "From Station to Station" was often included in the lists of the greatest albums of all time according to various publications. In 1995, it was ranked 21st on Mojo magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Albums Ever Made, making it Bowie's highest-rated album on the list. In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked it 323rd on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, 324th on its revised 2012 list, and 52nd on its revised 2020 list. In 2004, The Observer ranked the album at number 80 on its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums. Vibe magazine included the album in its list of the 100 most important albums of the 20th century. In 2013, NME magazine ranked the album 53rd in its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all time. Uncut magazine ranked the album 30th in its list of the 200 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2015.
