A very rare British original of an iconic jazz album  In this live performance, Davis performs with his permanent quintet, accompanied by Gil Evans and his 21-piece orchestra. The orchestra and the quintet perform excerpts from "Miles Ahead" and "Sketches of Spain" together, while the quintet itself performs both Davis originals and standards by Sonny Rollins and Ahmad Jamal, among others.  Although Davis and Evans have recorded several albums together, there have only ever been two live performances with both a quintet and an orchestra. To add to the album's rarity, the Carnegie Hall recordings feature several unique recordings: the only recording of the intro to "So What" orchestrated by Gil Evans and a version of "Spring Is Here" arranged by Evans. ...more

GENESIS-WIND AND WUTHERING-1976-THE FIRST UK PRESS-CHARISMA - CDS4005. Matrixes A-2/B-3. A rare British original of the cult band.  Wind and Wuthering is the eighth studio album by the English progressive rock band Genesis. It was released on December 17, 1976 on Charisma Records and is their last studio album featuring guitarist Steve Hackett. After the success of their 1976 tour in support of their previous album, A Trick of the Tail, the band moved to Hilvarenbeek in the Netherlands to record their next album, their first recorded outside the UK. Writing and recording caused internal friction, as Hackett felt that some of his contributions had been rejected in favor of material by keyboardist Tony Banks. The album received a positive response from critics and boosted the band's popularity in the United States. It reached No. 7 in the UK and No. 26 in the US and sold steadily, eventually receiving Gold Certification from the British Phonographic Institute and the Recording Industry Association of America. BRIAN  MAY (EX-QUEEN) + FRIENDS-STAR FLEET PROJECT - 1983-THE FIRST UK PRESS- EMI-SFLT107806. A rare British original by a QUEEN guitarist. The Star Fleet Project is a solo project by Brian May, Queen's guitarist, and a mini-album of the same name. The album, released under the name "Brian May + Friends", features May, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alan Gratzer (then playing in REO Speedwagon), Phil Chen (session bassist who played with Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart) and Fred Mandel (keyboardist Alice Cooper and additional keyboardist in Hot Space Tour and The Works by Queen). "The result is high-octane instrumental compositions in the rock style, which instantly became "royal" and are not much different from Flash with the addition of guitar pyrotechnics." The recordings were not intended for release and were minimally mixed.  "[May] called the Star Fleet Project a 'mini-album' because he considered it... too short to be a full-fledged album, but too long to even be a single." Although the album was not a success at first, by the end of the year it had reached number 35 in the UK and 125 in the USA. ...more

After the album was released, the band members said that the album's name meant absolutely nothing, but just sounded interesting. The first lp contains live recordings of the band in Birmingham and Manchester, made in the spring of 1969. The second album consists of original studio recordings made at Abbey Road Studios. The second record consists of four parts, each written by one of the band members. The album Ummagumma reached number five in the charts in the UK and number 74 in the USA. ...more
