ABBA-VOULEZ-VOUS-1979-THE FIRST PRESS OF SWEDEN-POLAR - POLS282.A rare Swedish original of the cult album.  Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish pop band ABBA, released in 1979. The release is characterized by a large number of dance-oriented tracks, but it is wrong to define the genre of the album as exclusively "disco"; for example, the song "Does Your Mother Know" has quite definite rock motifs. The work on the album went on for more than a year, and during this time the participants had accumulated more material than what they managed to put on the album. Among the works of that period published much later, it is worth mentioning the composition Dream World, included as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue. In 1981, the album "Voulez-Vous" was released in the USSR by the company "Melody" and became the last numbered album "ABBA", released in the Soviet Union. The album, like the previous one, was a huge success, placing in the charts of all countries in the top ten. It became multi-platinum in just one year.  ...more

DEBORAH HARRY (EX-BLONDIE)-DEF, DUMB AND BLONDE-1989-THE FIRST UK PRESS-CHRYSALIS-CHR1650.  A rare British original. Def, Dumb and Blonde is the third solo studio album by American singer Deborah Harry. Released in October 1989 on Sire Records in the USA and Chrysalis Records in the UK, the album returned Harry to her professional name "Deborah" rather than "Debbie". Harry worked on the album with various producers, including Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins and Mike Chapman, who previously produced the last four Blondie albums. "I wanted to do something that would remind me of Blondie," she said.   The song "I Want That Man", written by Tom Bailey and Alanna Curry of the Thompson Twins, was released as the title single. It entered the top 20 of the UK Singles chart and became Harry's most successful solo single in Australia, where it reached number 2. ...more

TEN YEARS AFTER-WATT-1970-THE FIRST PRESS UK-DERAM-SML1078 Matrix XZAL10255,P-2W/XZAL10256,P-1W, Stamper 1UU/1GG (Very early!) A very rare original in a complete set (poster 65 cm x 65 cm) of the iconic British rock and blues band. Watt's album sounded in many ways like a continuation of "Cricklewood Green": it is based on the same pointed riffs and "angry" vocals, except that the general mood here is a little lighter. Alvin Lee began experimenting with complicated song structures, but achieved the greatest effect in riff stuff ("I'm Coming On"), soul-country "My Baby Left Me" (unrelated to the Elvis Presley song), "I Say Yeah", where the synthesizer sounds quite in the spirit of Keith Emerson ("Aquatarkus") and the ballad "Think About The Times".. After the release of the Watt album, the band's contract expired, and Wright transferred it to Columbia Records. ...more

A rare European original of a cult album.  Monolith is the sixth studio album by the American progressive rock band Kansas, released in 1979.  Monolith initially sold about 800,000 copies, giving it gold status, but it eventually went platinum in the early 1990s. Kerry Livgren donated his platinum plate to the Kansas Historical Society. The album reached number 10 on the Billboard Albums Chart, becoming their third consecutive (and last) studio album to reach the top ten. The album remained on the Billboard Albums chart for a total of 24 weeks and was one of the top 100 albums of the charts (#100) for the calendar year 1979. ...more
