Recorded between September 1970 and June 1971, it was released in September 1971 on the Harvest Records label. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios (like its predecessor). Compared to Deep Purple in Rock, this album was recorded in a more experimental style. Allmusic named it one of the band's four most important albums, along with Machine Head, In Rock and Burn. Ian Gillan, unlike the rest of the band, considers this album a classic of Deep Purple. However, he noted that the inclusion of "Anyone's Daughter" on the album (in a country style and with humorous lyrics) was fun, but a mistake ("A good bit of fun, but a mistake"). Jon Lord highlighted several tracks on the album, such as "No No No" and "Fools", and especially noted Pace's playing in the title track. The track "Strange Kind of Woman", released as a single in February 1971 and rose to number eight in the UK charts. 20,000 copies were sold in the first week. A very rare original of the second press of the cult album of the British blues prog. Tons of Sobs is the debut studio album by the British rock band Free, released by Island Records on March 14, 1969. One of the first albums in the blues-rock style. The album did not chart in the UK, but reached #197 on the Billboard Hot 200 in the US.At the time of recording the album, all the members of the band Free were very young: none of them had turned twenty yet, and bass guitarist Andy Fraser was sixteen years old at all. They achieved some success through constant touring, and their debut album was composed mainly of compositions performed at concerts. The budget allocated for the recording of the album was only 800 pounds[2]. Most of the album was recorded over a few days in October 1968.
