CRABBY APPLETON-ROTTEN TO THE CORE!-1971-FIRST PRESS (PROMO) USA-ELEKTRA-EKS74106. A rare promo original of cult rockers.  Crabby Appleton is an American rock band of the early 1970s. Vocalist and songwriter Michael Fennelly hit the Top 40 with his first single "Go Back".  Crabby Appleton signed with Elektra Records and recorded their first album Crabby Appleton, produced by Don Gallucci and released in 1970.[1] The band's debut single "Go Back" rose to number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[2] The band opened for the Doors, Sly and the Family Stone, Three Dog Night, Guess Who, ABBA and George Carlin. They appeared on the American Bandstand, the Real Don Steele Show, What's Happening with John Byner and enjoyed critical acclaim. Both their albums, Crabby Appleton and Rotten to the Core, received rave reviews in Rolling Stone and Creem magazines. The band's second album, Rotten to the Core, was recorded in 1971, but sales were disappointing and the band broke up.[1] After the breakup of the band, Fennelly recorded two solo albums: Lane Changer, recorded in England in 1974; and Stranger's Bed, recorded in Los Angeles the following year.  ...more

A rare European original. Avonmore is the fifteenth studio album by English singer Bryan Ferry, released on November 17, 2014 by BMG Rights Management. The album was named after the location of Ferry's studio in London, where it was recorded. The album was announced on September 23, 2014 with a preview of the song "Loop De Li". The album was produced by Ferry with longtime collaborator Rhett Davis, who has released several albums for Ferry and Roxy Music. The album also features regular Ferry members such as Fonzie Thornton, Nile Rodgers, Marcus Miller and Johnny Marr (who co-wrote the track "Soldier of Fortune"). The album includes two cover versions, a rendition of Stephen Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns" and a version of "Johnny and Mary", originally written by Robert Palmer. The album was named after the building where the band set up a working residence, as well as drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford, who for the first time called this building a "Factory". Cosmo's Factory became Creedence Clearwater Revival's most commercially successful album (topping the charts of the USA, UK, Australia) and marked (according to many rock critics) the peak of the band's creativity[1].
