DEEP PURPLE-SLAVES AND MASTERS-1990-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-RCA- PL90535. A rare original of the cult album.  Slaves and Masters is the thirteenth studio album by Deep Purple, released on October 5, 1990. The CD was recorded with the participation of vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, who came to replace Ian Gillan at the suggestion of Richie Blackmore. The album went on sale on November 5, 1990 and caused contradictory responses. Blackmore was very pleased with the record, but music critics felt that it was more like a Rainbow album. Ian Gillan, who was dismissed from the group, had a similar opinion. "I feel proud of what Deep Purple did, and I think it would be fair if they called themselves by some other name - "Rainbow" or something. I think that would be fair enough. I think everyone would be relieved. They could very well continue their career as "Rainbow" and at a much higher level than if they continued as "Deep Purple". Upon its release, the album Slaves and Masters reached number 87 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Despite low album sales, Deep Purple conducted a relatively successful tour in support of Slaves and Masters in 1991, especially for the band's European leg. Turner was still a member of the band when they began writing and recording their next album in 1992, but under pressure from managers who were planning a tour in honor of Deep Purple's 25th anniversary, they eventually decided to bring Gillan back into the lineup for their 1993 studio album The Battle Rages On... ...more

QUEEN-A NIGHT AT THE OPERA-1975-FIRST PRESS UK-EMI - EMTC103.Matrices A-6/B-5. A rare British original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium". The final album "God Save the Queen" is the anthem of Great Britain arranged by Brian May; it was this composition that invariably completed each concert of the band. BETTY DAVIS SONGBOOK (2LP)-2015-FIRST PRESS UK/EU-PROVOGUE-PRD7455-1.  A rare original of the cult album.  Full release title: Mahalia Barnes / The Soul Mates featuring Joe Bonamassa "OOH YEA (The Betty Davis Songbook)". The album was recorded over three days at Freight Train Studios in Sydney, Australia, "live", without overdubs. The hard groove and riffs (Bonamassa immediately declares his presence) and the sharp piercing vocals in the title track If I'm In Luck I Might Get Picked Up turn into a love story - soul In The Meantime with a dominant organ and, again, a prolonged solo by Bonamassa. The funky He Was A Big Freak gives Mahalia the opportunity to show all her vocal capabilities. The album is made up of covers of songs by Betty Davis, Miles Davis' wife, recorded in the early 70s. Betty met Miles Davis in the late 60s and introduced him to the world of psychedelic rock, introduced him to Jimi Hendrix. Later she released three solo albums, which influenced the formation of such musicians as Prince, Ice Cube, Erykah Badu, etc. Her music consists of a thundering mix of funk, soul, R/B, served raw with sexual overtones and hooligan fervor. Last year, in the studio, she performed several Betty Davis songs in the presence of renowned producer Kevin Shirley (Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin, Journey).
