It was the first album to be released after the band's reorganization, following their breakup in 1970. Founding guitarist Luther Grosvenor did not return to the band, as he joined Mott the Hoople as a guitarist, adopting the stage name Ariel Bender . Grosvenor was replaced by Mick Jones, who later co-founded Foreigner, and drummer Mike Kelly was replaced by Bryson Graham .
