In 1997, the album supported the tour of The Bridges to Babylon Tour, the second-largest box office receipts tour in North America. By the beginning of 2010, the US has sold about 1 100 000 copies of Bridges to Babylon. The album takes 76 place in the list of the hundred best albums of the 1990s by Rolling Stone magazine.
