A rare British original by a cult prog band. Levitation is the tenth studio album by the English rock band Hawkwind, released in 1980. It reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. During the album's release, bandleader Dave Brock stated, "With Levitation, we returned to the style of our debut album. And it was a record that fully expressed our ideals and what we fought for."  This is their first studio album since the departure of lead vocalist and lyricist Robert Calvert, and the lyrics here are usually superficial, and the number of instrumental parts is increased. It is also Hawkwind's only studio album to feature former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, and the first for former Gong keyboardist Tim Blake, who later rejoined the band and played on the 2010 album Blood of the Earth. ...more

MINGUS, CHARLES-RIGHT NOW-1966-FRANCE-AMERICA FIRST PRESS-30AM 6063.  A rare French original of a cult album.  Right Now: Live at the Jazz Workshop is a live album by jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus, recorded in San Francisco in 1964 and released on the Fantasy label in 1966. The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow says: "Although this underrated band does not reach the passionate level of the Mingus-Dolphy quintet, it is quite independent." MATIA BAZAR-MELANCHOLIA-1985-THE FIRST PRESS OF ITALY-CDG-ARLP12426. A rare Italian original by a cult rock-pop band. The ninth album by the Italian band. The first album with the new keyboardist Sergio Cossu. The album's title is inspired by Jean Paul Sartre's novel Nausea, as Sartre wanted to call it Melancholia. "Melancholia" becomes an extremely successful album. The song "Souvenir", this time dedicated to the French capital, although it takes only 10th place in Sanremo, but again receives the "Critics Award", reaches 8th place in the national charts. The song "I Feel You" ("Ti sento"), reached number 1 in Italian and Belgian, number 2 in Dutch and number 11 in German charts in 1986, and became a worldwide hit, including in English-speaking countries, recorded in English ("I Feel You"). The English version of Ti sento is I Feel You, a single that was also released successfully in Italy. Thanks to the new electronic sound, Ti sento became a classic of the band and one of the most famous songs of the 80s. In 1985, the band made a long tour of Japan, France, Germany, other European and Latin American countries, and also visited the USSR for the first time. ...more
