BOWIE, DAVID-STATION TO STATION-1976-THE FIRST UK PRESS-RCA-APL1-1327 Matrix A-1E/B-2E Rare British original cult album. Station to Station is the tenth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on January 23, 1976 on the RCA Records label. The album, considered one of his most significant works, became the embodiment of Bowie's "Thin White Duke" stage persona. The Station to Station album, produced by Bowie and Harry Maslin, was primarily recorded at Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles, California, in late 1975, after Bowie had completed filming on The Man Who Fell to Earth. The cover was designed based on a shot from the movie. During the recording, Bowie suffered from various addictions, primarily cocaine, and later said that he remembered almost nothing about the recording process. "From Station to Station" was often included in the lists of the greatest albums of all time according to various publications. In 1995, it was ranked 21st on Mojo magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Albums Ever Made, making it Bowie's highest-rated album on the list. In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked it 323rd on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, 324th on its revised 2012 list, and 52nd on its revised 2020 list. In 2004, The Observer ranked the album at number 80 on its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums. Vibe magazine included the album in its list of the 100 most important albums of the 20th century. In 2013, NME magazine ranked the album 53rd in its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all time. Uncut magazine ranked the album 30th in its list of the 200 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2015. Guilty is the twenty—second studio album by American singer Barbra Streisand, released on September 23, 1980 on Columbia Records. The album was produced by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees and his permanent team Alby Galuten and Carl Richardson. The album received positive reviews from music critics. William Ruhlmann of AllMusic wrote that this album is one of the singer's "least distinctive" albums and that "it sounds like a Bee Gees album after Streisand's 'Saturday Night Fever.'"  ...more

BRIAN  MAY (EX-QUEEN) + FRIENDS-STAR FLEET PROJECT - 1983-THE FIRST UK PRESS- EMI-SFLT107806. A rare British original by a QUEEN guitarist. The Star Fleet Project is a solo project by Brian May, Queen's guitarist, and a mini-album of the same name. The album, released under the name "Brian May + Friends", features May, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alan Gratzer (then playing in REO Speedwagon), Phil Chen (session bassist who played with Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart) and Fred Mandel (keyboardist Alice Cooper and additional keyboardist in Hot Space Tour and The Works by Queen). "The result is high-octane instrumental compositions in the rock style, which instantly became "royal" and are not much different from Flash with the addition of guitar pyrotechnics." The recordings were not intended for release and were minimally mixed.  "[May] called the Star Fleet Project a 'mini-album' because he considered it... too short to be a full-fledged album, but too long to even be a single." Although the album was not a success at first, by the end of the year it had reached number 35 in the UK and 125 in the USA. ...more

STEVE VAI- PASSION AND WARFARE - 1990- FIRST PRESS UK-FFT- GRUB17. A rare British original. Passion and Warfare is the second studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released on May 22, 1990 on Relativity and Epic Records. He received a gold certificate from the RIAA. Passion and Warfare was written based on a series of episodes of dreams that Vai had when he was younger, and in the album's guitar notes book Vai summarizes it this way: "Jimi Hendrix meets Jesus Christ at a party that Ben Hur arranged for Mel Blanc." It was all recorded at Mothership Studios in his Hollywood Hills home, a 1,600-square-foot (150 m2) building that also recorded his guitar parts for Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has small spoken parts on the album; Coverdale, Adrian Vandenberg and Rudy Sarzo are credited with backing vocals. Vai claims that planning for the album began back in 1982, but was postponed after joining David Lee Roth's band and was not resumed until the breakup with Roth in 1989. ...more
