The radio station's leading disc jockey Zenas "Daddy" Sears recorded an album for the audience using a single microphone. The album is notable for its technical excellence in terms of the balance between the band, the singer and the audience, as well as the fact that it documents Ray Charles' jazzy R and B sound before he achieved great success. It reached number 3 in the UK and number 2 in Australia. Three years later, the song "A World of Our Own" was recorded by Sonny James.
