MCCARTNEY, PAUL-OFF THE GROUND-1993-THE FIRST UK PRESS-MPL PARLOPHONE-PCSD125. A very rare British original of the iconic album. Off the Ground (from English — "From the ground") is the ninth solo studio album by Paul McCartney, released in 1993, McCartney's first studio album in the 1990s, following Flowers in the Dirt released in 1989. The album Off the Ground itself was released on February 1, 1993. The album rose to number 5 on the UK chart, and to number 17 on the US chart (it was certified gold there). The album was the first McCartney album in which no single became a notable hit in the United States; this has not been the case in McCartney's practice since the Wings Wild Life album in 1971. While the single "Hope of Deliverance" was floundering somewhere in the depths of the American singles chart, it rose to number 18 in the UK; "C'mon People" was less successful in the UK chart, and almost unnoticeable in the US. The album rose to number 5 on the UK Top 100 Albums Chart and stayed on the chart for only 6 weeks. In Germany, the album achieved relatively greater success, rose to number 2 and stayed there for 4 weeks, was certified platinum; the single "Hope of Deliverance" rose to number 3 on the singles chart. In the United States, the single "Off the Ground" rose to number 27 on the Adult Contemporary chart.A few weeks after the release of the album, McCartney and the band began a world tour ("The New World Tour"); the tour lasted 6 months, and many successful concerts were given in different countries. Recordings from the concerts of this tour were released in late 1993 on McCartney's next album, Paul Is Live. The legs on the album cover belong to Paul, Linda and the rest of the accompanying band. ...more

JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE-ELECTRIC LADYLAND-1968 ORIGINAL PRESS 1973 UK-POLYDOR - 2310269-70. A very early reissue of the album with a re-recorded sound. Electric Ladyland is the third and final album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, released in 1968.Recording the album was accompanied by constant difficulties. After a troubled tour of Scandinavia and England, Hendricks decided to move to the US. Disillusioned with the creative limitations of record companies, he set up his own Studio in new York city, where he could implement all his musical ideas. The construction of the Studio was accompanied by problems, and its construction was finally completed only in the mid-70s.As a result, Jimi recorded the bulk of the material at the Record Plant studios. Due to difficulties in his relationship with the band's bassist, Noel reading, Jimi played most of the bass guitar parts himself, including the bass solo on "1983". During the recording of "All Along the Watchtower", reading went to a nearby bar, Hendrix took his bass and recorded the song."Voodoo Chile "was recorded during Hendrix's late-night jam session featuring Mitch Mitchell, Steve Winwood on Hammond organ, and Jack Casady on bass guitar; it served as the basis for" Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", recorded the following day. The double album "Electric Ladyland" revealed the full breadth of Hendrix's musical talent. It includes samples of every genre of music from psychedelia ("Burning of the Midnight Lamp") to Blues guitar jam ("Voodoo Chile"), 50s-style rock and roll ("Little Miss Strange") and the epic" A Merman I Should Turn to Be", which can be considered an early example of progressive rock. Hendrix also recorded a cover version of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower", which many (including Dylan himself) call the best version of this song."Electric Ladyland" reached number one on the US charts; the UK version only reached number five. In 1998, readers of Q magazine ranked "Electric Ladyland" as the 22nd greatest album of all time. In 2002, the album was ranked # 8 in the "100 best rock albums of all time" by Classic Rock magazine ...more
