Since 1960, Shelly Mann has mainly concentrated on working at the jazz club, where he was a co-owner and in which he played both with his own band Shelly Manne and His Men, and with almost all the jazz stars of that time. His club featured, for example, Ben Webster, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Michel Legrand, Milt Jackson, Monty Alexander, Miles Davis. So this album was born, recorded with superstars in the line-up with Johnny Hodges. The last person to perform on the club's stage was Stan Getz in 1973. In the same year, Mann sold the club due to financial difficulties.

High Civilization is the nineteenth studio album by the British pop group the Bee Gees, released on March 25, 1991 in the United Kingdom, and on May 14, 1991 in the United States-their last album recorded for Warner Bros.
