THE FLOCK is the first album by a very interesting American band that worked at the junction of jazz, blues and rock. In almost any criticism you will read that FLOCK is very similar to CHICAGO, was influenced by CHICAGO, or something similar. You can safely throw this criticism in the trash... The Flock failed to achieve the commercial success of other jazz-rock bands of the era, such as Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears, but they became quite famous due to the inclusion of the violin in the group. BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST-EYES OF THE UNIVERSE-1979-FIRST PRESS UK-POLYDOR-POLD5029.A rare British original of the cult prog band. Eyes Of The Universe is the tenth studio album by the British band Barclay James Harvest, released on November 5, 1979.  After recording the album "XII" in 1978, the band lost the "branded" mellotrons of Stuart "Woolley" Woolstenholm. Feeling close within the Barclay James Harvest group, Woolley seriously engaged in a solo career. The remaining trio of musicians decided to continue the existence of their collective, making up for the loss mainly due to session musicians. The band's sound has noticeably improved and become more pop, but it has remained "afloat". And that was the main thing. A very rare original of the cult album.  The Division Bell is the fourteenth studio album by the British progressive rock band Pink Floyd. In the UK, the CD was released on March 28, 1994 on the EMI label, in the USA it was released on April 4 of the same year on Columbia Records. The music is mostly written by David Gilmore and Richard Wright, the lyrics are mainly devoted to the topic of communication. The album was recorded in several locations, including Pink Floyd-owned Britannia Row Studios and Astoria. The Division Bell reached the top of the charts in the UK and the United States, but critics reacted coolly to it. The album was released immediately after Pink Floyd's tour of the USA and Europe. In June 1994, the disc was awarded the status of gold, platinum and double platinum in the USA, and in January 1999 it became triple platinum. ...more

The album cover was drawn by Rodney Matthews, a famous English fantasy illustrator who created covers for the works of many other artists (Scorpions, Thin Lizzy and others) The name of the disc is borrowed from the novel "No Mean City" (1935) by Alexander MacArthur and Kingsley Long. With this album, the band's sound has become heavier, given the addition of guitarist Zal Cleminson from Sensational Alex Harvey Band. The popularity of the album allowed the band to perform with several big names, such as Thin Lizzy, on their 1978/79 tour. ...more
