ATLANTIS-SAME-1972-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-VERTIGO-6360609. A rare original continuation of the cult prog group FRUMPY. Atlantis was formed at the end of the summer of 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravets (keyboards) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians previously played in the band Frumpy. The founding members also included guitarist Frank Dees and drummer Kurt Kress (formerly of the band Emergency). After several live performances in Germany, the first LP was released at Island Records Studio in London, which was widely recognized, especially in the United States, where Rumpf's bluesy vocals were appreciated. Diz and Kress left the band after recording. For a four-week tour of England with Procol Harum and Traffic, George Meyer joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg joined Atlantis as drummer. His second compilation, after the Capitol/EMI compilation The Best of George Harrison (1976), contains songs from Harrison's releases on his Dark Horse label between 1976 and 1987. The album also includes the 1989 single "Cheer Down", which became Harrison's contribution to the soundtrack to the movie "Lethal Weapon 2", and two tracks recorded specifically for the compilation: "Poor Little Girl" and "Cockamamie Business". Despite the popularity of Harrison's work during this period – both as a solo artist with his album Cloud Nine (1987), and as a member of The Traveling Wilburys – the compilation failed to achieve commercial success.
