Starting work in the studio on April 16, 1969, the musicians recorded 8 songs included in the album of the same name in 2 days. In November of the same year, the band took part in the festival in the Belgian city of Amougies together with "Pink Floyd", "Colosseum", "The Nice", "East Of Eden", Frank Zappa, etc. In 1970, before the release of the second album, Joël Daydé and Pierre Fanen left the band due to musical differences, and Englishman Ian Bellamy took the place of the vocalist. The album was released in the USA on June 7, 1976 by Capitol Records (catalog number SKBO 11537), in the UK on June 10, 1976 by Parlophone (catalog number PCSP 719); at that time, some media suggested that the album was released on the twentieth anniversary of the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. If this was indeed the intention, then EMI made a mistake in their calculations, since in reality these two first met in July 1957. The album's title, Rock ’n’ Roll Music, is most likely taken from a Chuck Berry song, a version of which performed by The Beatles was included on the second side of the album.
