Stop is a hard rock/R and B album by the first incarnation of Eric Burdon's band, which included Burdon, John Sterling, Kim Kesterson and Terry Ryan. The band was formed in 1971, after Burdon left his previous band War to record an album with Jimmy Witherspoon. They recorded the 1971 album Guilty! and then, without Witherspoon, this album. Released only in July 1975, it did not have a single hit, but enjoyed some success on the American chart, reaching both American and Canadian albums. A bright red and white cover cut octagonally in the shape of a traffic stop sign. Inside the spread, a large black-and-white portrait of Burdon is depicted on one surface. The album received high marks and broke into the top 20 charts on both sides of the Atlantic. ...more
