The band Tear Gas consisted of musicians who later formed the backbone of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. At the time of joining Alex Harvey, the band consisted of: vocalist David Batchelor, Hugh McKenna-keyboardist and backing vocalist, bassist Chris Glen, Zal Cleminson-guitar and backing vocals, and Hugh McKenna's brother Ted on drums. Harvey took the place at the microphone, and David Batchelor became the sound engineer of the band (by the way, not bad).

Swordfishtrombones is the eighth studio album by singer-songwriter Tom Waits, released in 1983 on Island Records. It was the first album that Waits released himself. Stylistically different from his previous albums, Swordfishtrombones moves away from traditional piano songwriting towards unusual instrumentation and a somewhat more abstract and experimental rock approach.
