The band Tear Gas consisted of musicians who later formed the backbone of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. At the time of joining Alex Harvey, the band consisted of: vocalist David Batchelor, Hugh McKenna-keyboardist and backing vocalist, bassist Chris Glen, Zal Cleminson-guitar and backing vocals, and Hugh McKenna's brother Ted on drums. A very rare original of the cult blues rocker. Since the release of the previous album A Hard Road, there have been noticeable changes in the composition of the Bluesbreakers: Peter Green left to form his own band (Fleetwood Mac), and Ainsley Dunbar moved to Jeff Beck. John took Keef Hartley to the vacant drummer's place, and it was more difficult to replace the lead guitarist - after all, the new musician would have to bear comparison with both Clapton and Green. John remembered that at one of the concerts, when Eric for some reason did not show up on time, a young boy came who claimed to know the entire repertoire of Bluesbreakers.
