Deep Purple (also known as April) is the third studio album by the British band Deep Purple. The last album created by the original line-up of the band, known as "Mark I". It was released in the US in June on the Tetragrammaton Records label, and in the UK in September 1969 on the Harvest Records label. The most famous composition of the album (after which the entire album is often called) is the final 12-minute piece "April", recorded with the participation of specially hired musicians playing wind and string instruments.
