It was their first album with bass guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Mike Wedgwood. The album's title is a spoonerism for "Stunning Cunts", which is characteristic of their bold use of language. The title track is one of the longest songs sung in Russian. One of the tribute albums to the memory of Mike and the band, released in 2005, was called "County Town N 20 years later". The album was recorded in the spring of 1983 on equipment in the building of the "House of the Young Technician" in Leningrad under the direction of Andrey Tropillo. A tape recorder of the Studer brand at the 38th speed and a Basf LR-56 film were used. "Sands" is the ninth "natural" album of the group "Aquarium", consisting mainly of songs from 1975-1986, recorded in 1993.
