A rare original of one of the icons of funk-soul style.  Angel is the ninth studio album by The Ohio Players and the sixth album recorded for Mercury. The band grew from seven to eight members with the addition of Clarence "Chet" Willis on rhythm guitar. Three singles were released in support of the album: "Body Vibes", "O-H-I-O", and "Merry Go Round"." SECOND HAND-DEATH MAY BE YOUR SANTA CLAUS-1971-FIRST PRESS FRANCE-2C062-92660. A very rare French original of the second album of the top progressive British band Second Hand. In 1970, they recorded their second studio album, Death May Be Your Santa Claus, at Mushroom Studios and invited Second Hand to release their album there. The album was released in April 1971 with a supporting single titled "Funeral", featuring "Hangin' On An Eyelid " (track 2 from the album) as the B-side. This album was much more successful than the previous one, using a heavy symphonic rock style that clearly influenced the vocal style of Arthur Brown(Rob Elliott was a big fan of them). ...more

A very rare British original blues meter. Freddie King (real name Frederick Christian King) (September 3, 1934-December 28, 1976) was an American blues guitarist and singer. He is best known for his recordings of the 1960s, particularly his renditions of such hits as "Hide Away" and "Have You Ever Loved a Woman". It is considered the best and most commercially successful collection of the singer's hits. The first single released was Justify My Love, which was released the day before the compilation was released. The Immaculate Collection reached number two on the Billboard charts. A rare original by one of the brilliant jazz pianists. The Individualism of Gil Evans is an album by pianist, conductor, arranger, and composer Gil Evans, originally released on the Verve label in 1964. It features Evans ' big band arrangements of five original compositions (two written by Miles Davis) and compositions by Kurt Weill, Bob Dorow, John Lewis, and Willie Dixon.The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow awarded the album 4 stars, stating that " Highly recommended to Gil Evans fans; it's a pity he hasn't recorded more albums in this era."
