Pendulum is the last CCR album to feature rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, who left the band shortly after the album's release. The record demonstrates the group's desire to expand their own stylistic framework, a number of his compositions in musical terms are noticeably more complex than the CCR records of 1968-1969.
