Blind Faith is the only album by the British rock band of the same name, which was released in August 1969 and immediately topped the US and UK charts. Recording took place in London, first at Morgan Studios, and then at Olympic Studios, under the direction of producer Jimmy Miller. All tracks on this album belong to the band members, except for a cover version of "Well All Right" from the Buddy Holly repertoire. The album received positive reviews from critics, was a great commercial success and immediately topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. The cover of the album, published in the UK, shows a young topless girl (the younger sister of photographer Bob Seidemann, the creator of the cover) holding a model airplane. In the US, this picture was considered not quite decent, and the album was also released with an alternative cover, which featured a photo of the band members. The album went platinum in five countries, and triple platinum in Australia.

It was the Gemini Suite, five long movements inspired by members of Deep Purple, and performed live in September 1970 at the Royal Festival Hall with the Light Music Society Orchestra (an album of the concert was released in 1993 as the Gemini Suite Live). Jon Lord then recorded it in the studio as his first solo project in 1971 with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Malcolm Arnold and soloists drawn from the rock world. Gemini Suite this was an important step for Lorde and led to albums such as Windows (1974) and Sarabande (1976).
