Considered a breakthrough album in the band's career, it released the single — "What You Need" which reached the Top-5 of the hit parade of the USA (the best result for INXS at the time). This album also marked the beginning of successful cooperation of the team with producer Chris Thomas, who had a hand in the record following the most successful albums of the group — Kick (1987) and X (1990). In the U.S. the album received double platinum status. The album went on to sell 2 million copies.

After a tour around the world in late 1975 in support of his previous Studio album, The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (1975), vacman back in Herouville , France, to record a new Studio album with his rock band. He created his own material on a fictional and not fictional autobiography, which includes historical, futuristic and science fiction themes. Gill and Roelofs 1980 record a new album, preceded by its release of the single We Gotta Get Out Of This Place. The album was called I Like Some Cool Rock'n'roll, and it was produced by himself, Roelofs, and Farian remained in the project as a viewer and a producer, for which, however, had the final word. The album was attended by interesting disco song Go Down Main Street, Tom Cat, as well as a few songs Roelofs, co-written by Fred Jay, including a beautiful lyrical Take Your Time. What prevented this album to be a bestseller, unknown, but, apparently, the role played by the fact that in 1980 disco began to experience hard times.
