The album reached number one in the charts in at least 14 countries. In the United States for the first year it sold over 8 million copies in Canada, more than 1 million, just in the world has sold 25 million copies of the album. On 25 November 1993 the album was reissued in the US under a different name — The Sign with the addition of 4 new songs. The album became the best selling in the USA in 1994. A few songs from the album, including "The Sign", "All That She Wants" and "Don't Turn Around", were hits #1 on the charts the USA and Europe.

Concerto for Group and Orchestra (in translation from English. — "Concerto for group and orchestra") is a live album by British rock band Deep Purple, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic orchestra. One of the first attempts to blend classical music and rock music in one work. Was released in the U.S. in December 1969, and in the UK in January 1970. At the time of formation of the second Deep Purple line in the group, there was a confrontation between art-rock ambitions of Lord John and the hard-rock of Ritchie Blackmore. The Lord considered the possibility of creating works which will combine the features of classical and rock music. Deep Purple Manager Tony Edwards decides to go for broke and reserves albert Hall on 24 September, leaving John Lord about six months to write the score. Album Watt sounded much like a continuation of "Cricklewood Green": it is based on the same pointed riffs and "angry" vocals, except that the General mood here a little lighter. Alvin Lee began experimenting with more complicated song structures, but the greatest effect is achieved in rifovich things ("I'm Coming On"), soul country "My Baby Left Me" (the song Elvis Presley unrelated) "I Say Yeah", where the synth sounds are quite in the spirit of Keith Emerson ("Aquatarkus") and the ballad "Think About The Times"..
