In 1973 Van Geest and Vrolijk quit the band, they were replaced by Charlie Mariano (wind instruments) and Herman van Boeyen (drums). In the new structure, the group released the conceptual jazz-rock album Iskander (1973), which was based on the life story of Alexander the great.

Virgin Killer is the fourth Studio album by the German band Scorpions, released in 1976, the band's first album, known outside Europe. The title song, Virgin Killer, illuminates the subject of human depravity, it gave the idea covers with naked young virgin who was banned in the United States and several other countries. As with the previous album, In Trance, the cover was censored in some countries the album was released with an alternative version of the cover. The artwork was Steffan Böhle, Manager of RCA Records. He depicted a naked minor girl on black background; broken glass effect covering her genitals. In Japan, the album reached the 32nd line in the hit parade. "Rhapsodies" (Rhapsody) - the 8th album by Rick Wakeman (double), includes Rhapsody works as the Rick and some other authors. Recorded this album in 1978 and early 1979 in a home Studio Wakeman "La Grange Studios", as well as in Switzerland, in the Studio, "Mountain Studios" (Montreux). Produced by Tony Visconti (previously worked with David Bowie, Marc bolana group "sparks"), he played acoustic guitar. The release took place in may 1979 on the label of A&M. Critics praised this album's different, but relatively low compared to previous albums. Sam Wakeman said that he did not plan to create something outstanding, he just tired from the countless tours with the band "Yes" and decided to relax, doing exactly the music which he at that moment was like.
