Recorded from December 1979 to February 1980 in the Studio, "Dierks Studios" (Cologne, Germany).The album cover was created by storm with Thorgerson of the design firm Hipgnosis, who had designed the cover for Pink Floyd. Storm suggested the idea of the cover from which the group was delighted.

Since the release of the previous album A Hard Road in the composition of Bluesbrakers there have been noticeable changes: Peter green went to collect his own band (Fleetwood Mac), and Ainsley Dunbar went to Jeff Beck.
